Privacy Policy — Gold Medal: Mathematics
Effective date: July 7, 2026 Last updated: July 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Noble Bloom Ltd. (“Noble Bloom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Gold Medal: Mathematics mobile and tablet application (the “App”) and our marketing website (the “Site”). The App is distributed only through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Noble Bloom Ltd. is a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada.
Privacy at a glance
- We collect as little as possible. You can use the App with a nickname — you do not have to give us your real name.
- Photos and drawings of your work are processed and then immediately discarded. We do not store images of your solutions on our servers. We remove location and device metadata before processing, and our AI grading provider operates under a zero-data-retention agreement.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show you third-party behavioral advertising.
- Children under 13 get a restricted mode that does not collect a real name, email address, or other personal details.
- You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time: [email protected].
This summary is for convenience only; the full policy below governs.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to personal information we process through the App and the Site. It does not apply to:
- The Apple App Store or Google Play, which process your purchases and account under their own privacy policies; or
- Third-party services we link to but do not operate.
The App is offered in selected countries. It is not currently offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, mainland China, or Türkiye. If you access it from those regions, you do so on your own initiative and we do not intend to offer the App to you there.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Age screening. When you first open the App, we ask for your month and year of birth to determine which experience to show you. We use this only to apply age-appropriate settings; we do not store your day of birth.
- Profile information.
- For users 13 and older: a display name or nickname, and optionally your name, your study goal, and your grade or education level.
- For users under 13 (Restricted Mode): a nickname/alias only. We do not collect a real name, email address, phone number, or other contact information from these users.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send (e.g., your message and the email address you write from).
2.2 Content you submit for grading
To use AI grading, you may submit your mathematical work as a photo of paper or a drawing made on the in-App sketchpad. See Section 5 for exactly how this content is handled — in short, it is processed transiently and not stored by us.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical identifiers — such as device type, operating system, app version, and a device or installation identifier.
- IP address — received automatically when your device connects to our servers.
- Usage and progress data — your level-check results, per-topic skill levels, practice activity, scores, and streaks. In the current version of the App this data is stored on your device, not on our servers; it powers your personalized learning experience.
- Diagnostics — server-side request logs (including IP address and coarse request metadata) to keep the service working and secure. The App itself does not include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
We treat device identifiers and IP addresses as personal information even when they are not tied to your name.
2.4 Purchases
The App is sold for a one-time price and offers an optional “Go Pro” subscription (monthly or yearly) and in-app purchases such as “Grade my solutions.” All payments are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We receive your subscription/entitlement status (e.g., active or expired) but do not receive your full payment card number.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide and operate the App, including the level check, tutorials, practice questions, and AI grading;
- Anchor your starting level and personalize tutorials and questions to your skill level in each topic;
- Calculate and display your statistics and anonymized comparative rankings;
- Maintain your subscription entitlements and process in-app purchases (via the app stores);
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, debug, and improve the App (“support for internal operations”); and
- Comply with legal obligations.
For users under 13, persistent identifiers are used only to support the internal operations of the App and not for behavioral advertising or profiling.
4. AI grading and photo/sketchpad handling (how we protect your work)
When you submit a photo or sketchpad drawing for grading:
- Metadata removal. We strip metadata — including any location (EXIF GPS) data, device identifiers, and timestamps — from the image before any further processing.
- Transient processing. The image is held only in memory while it is graded. We do not write it to a database, file storage, backups, or logs. Once grading is complete, the image is discarded.
- Zero-retention AI provider. Grading is performed by Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock running Anthropic Claude models. Under AWS Bedrock’s service terms, submitted content is not stored by the provider after the response is returned, is not used to train models, and is not reviewed by humans.
- What we keep. We keep the grade and feedback generated for your work (as part of your progress data), but not the image itself.
Please do not write your real name, your school’s name, or other personal details on work you photograph — we only need to see your mathematics. The App will remind you of this when you use the camera.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers (processors). We use trusted vendors to run the App, who may process information on our behalf and under contract, including:
- cloud hosting and infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, hosted in Canada);
- AI grading (Amazon Web Services Bedrock running Anthropic Claude models, as described in Section 4);
- we do not use any third-party analytics SDK; and
- we do not use any third-party crash-reporting SDK (operating-system crash reports reach us only through Apple and Google under their policies).
- App stores. Apple and Google process your purchases, subscriptions, and store account.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Noble Bloom.
- Business transfers. If Noble Bloom is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not display third-party behavioral/targeted advertising in the App.
6. Children’s privacy
We care about the privacy of children and design the App to minimize data from younger users.
- Age screening. We ask for month and year of birth using a neutral age screen. We do not encourage anyone to misstate their age.
- Under-13 Restricted Mode. Users who indicate they are under 13 are placed in a Restricted Mode that:
- collects only a nickname/alias — no real name, email, phone number, or other contact information;
- processes submitted images transiently only (never stored), exactly as described in Section 4;
- uses persistent identifiers only to support internal operations (not for advertising or profiling); and
- excludes the user from public leaderboards and from any feature that would display their alias or work to other users.
- U.S. COPPA. Because we do not collect personal information (as defined by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) from users in Restricted Mode beyond what is permitted to support internal operations, we do not condition use on collecting such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will review and delete it as required.
- Quebec (Canada). For users in Québec, we will not collect personal information from a minor under 14 without consent of a person having parental authority, except where the collection is clearly for the minor’s benefit, consistent with applicable law.
7. Data retention
- Profile and progress data (alias, levels, scores, activity) lives on your device in the current version of the App; deleting the App deletes it. If we later add optional account sync, retention will be described here first.
- Submitted images are not retained (see Section 4).
- Diagnostic and log data is retained for a limited period for security and reliability, then deleted or anonymized.
- We delete or anonymize personal information when it is no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.
8. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International data transfers
Noble Bloom is based in Canada, and our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. These jurisdictions may have data-protection laws different from those where you live. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protection for your information.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your information;
- Withdraw consent for future processing; and
- Complain to a privacy regulator.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can also reset or delete much of your data by deleting your profile in the App and removing the App from your device.
Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and, for Québec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). You may direct questions or complaints to our Privacy Officer (Section 12).
United States. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights to access, delete, or correct their personal information; contact us at [email protected] to make a request.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App or on the Site. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
